Trying something new

Last night Oui and I did a Blood furnace run with two of our long-time guild friends, Bridei and Jsbach. As they were on their shadow priests and we were on our druids (Oui - Resto, Me - Balance) we had a dilemna, who would tank?

For the first time, ever, I decided to tank and oh my god was it ever hard. First I had the issue of putting buttons on my bear bar, as I've probably used bear form a total of 2 times, and then I needed some Jsbach advice on what each button does and when to use it (his main is a feral druid). Learning how to taunt, that bear tanks are useless on mobs of more than 3, that if you're not feral spec (I wasn't) your rage generation will be pathetic, and that all of the abilities will be super expensive, were the first few lessons. Luckily I had been collecting some bear gear along the way.

Considering there were only 4 of us, Bridei and Jsbach were still pretty new to shadow priest world, and I had never tanked a thing in my life (unofficially doing so on my shadow priest doesn't count), we did surprisingly well. It probably helped that Oui was decked out in his full PvP healing set. The run went so well that straight afterwards I went and respecced to feral. What a breath of fresh air it is!

Welcome to the wonderful

Welcome to the wonderful world of tanking. I still haven't tried a druid character at all, but I know that tanking is both fun and stressful.

I thought I responded to this already, but I'm quite enjoying the big change when tanking. I'm not ready to really tank anything yet though...
