Let’s look at a timeline of my Curse Client use.
- Previously using Wowmatrix and loved it.
- Curse begins to block Wowmatrix under the premise of excess bandwidth usage.
- I grudgingly switch to the Curse Client and find that it works exactly like Wowmatrix.
- Fast forward a few weeks and overnight the functionality I’ve become used to in the Curse Client is now ‘premium’ (ie paid).
Curse client sucks and they’re dirty scum for forcing us to switch to their client and then trying to charge us for functionality we were previously getting for free. They should have found a way to work with the Wowmatrix guys.
Can’t you just go to curse, search for the addon and download it? Works for me :P
The client still works, but now it won’t automatically update the addons for you and you can only update addons individually (ie one at a time) by right clicking on them and selecting update. I realise my complaints may sound petty but my belief is that they blocked Wowmatrix because there was no way they could compete when the plan all along was to charge.
Must admit i don’t really know what happened. I saw it mentioned around but I’ve never used an autoupdater anyway, so… :D
BTW you guys play(ed) LOTRO right? How far did you get? I was sucked back in for the 2year anniversary and love my runekeeper – best thing they ever added to the game!
I play Lotro but I never managed to get Oui into it. I kept telling him he could play a female elf (ie Arwen) but he was never convinced.
I have this thing with Lotro where I get into my 20′s and the game slows down so much that I eventually lose interest, delete my character, and later start a new one thinking I’ll really do it this time.
